FOR vs WITH

The Standard of working FOR vs. WITH your Boss

It has become a standard of saying that when a person is employed by another, the individual is working "for" the higher authority. This creates an aura in which the employee is belittled and obeys the higher authority without question. The word “for” implies that the employee does not want to do the work, but is doing it for the higher authority, rather than for the mission statement of the company. This ideology is a very "old-school" style of thinking.
The word "with" implies a better, more positive connotation to the structure and overall goal of the business. Using the word, "with" will display a lateral form of authority in which different people play different roles in the organization. The different roles of the organization do not vary in weight or importance; all roles make a contribution to the goal of the company. A very extreme example would be a janitor and CEO of the company. Without the janitor, the entire corporation would not be operating for an extended period of time. Additionally, without the CEO the corporation would not have a leader.
Another example of this could be a professor could be professors. Do professor work for a university? Technically yes, but their job is to work with students and the university to get the education across to the students. In that switch from for to with a considerable amount of attitude change will occur, along with a passion for their work.
With the ideology of "with", every individual will feel valued and understand the overall goal of the company. The mindset and energy of the individuals will be different than if they had the "for" mentality. All the employees will derive from this concept that we as a team are all working for the company's goal, even though we do different roles. This will instill a certain type of progressive energy that will translate into better and more passionate work from all areas of the company.
With the progressive mindset that the 20th century is in. It is very likely that this ideology will catch on; due to the fact this generation actually cares about how they feel when working a certain job or career. No individual wants to work “for” someone or really necessarily do something “for” someone else. It is ingrained in the selfish nature of a human nature, with the exclusion of friends and family. Therefore, the ideology that one is working “with” the company to accomplish the task will give the individual more self-esteem and help retain more employees.
