With multiple mobile operating systems available these days and many different phones that run them. We the people prefer one OS to another. This gives birth to a cult and loyal members of that company or system. In our society today we have some people know as "Fan boys" who love something so much that it eventually ends up hurting them later. So what are fan boys really? Well fan boys ( there are girls too!), are people who just prefer some thing to such an extreme that they cannot see the negative of that object and cannot handle if their object of value is dethroned by the evil companies that try to mimic its superiority and power. Fan boys may seem harmless and ignorant. However, there are many things about fan boys that can actually be bad.
Fan boys can be lumped together as angry nerds, but on examining closer you will find that each one is unique like a snowflake. To many 'normal' people it may not seem logical to fight over a phone, but the thing that separates us from them is that they see much more beyond the phone. So why is this cult culture bad you may ask yourself? Well when a person is so obsessed with a system it refuses to accept another system or a way and that leads to getting into anger fists and opposing the other systems with such a deep passive that is so aggressive that it comes bad to hurt you. That anger and passion ends up creating a virtual reality utopia in your brain that it pulls you away from reality and when that bubble bursts it hits you hard. However, once your pulled into this system there is no escape. There is something so intoxicating about this experience and being a part of it that is larger than oneself.
In the end, all i would like to say is that being a fan boy may satisfy your needs of acceptance and pride in society as an individual. However its the end result that leaves a bitter sour taste of being wrong of your opinions and systems. I can say this with full confidence after testing various technological systems ranging from desktops to macs to mobiles to smartphones and till this date i have not found a particular system being far superior than the other. Each have their positives and negatives but in the end its the experience that counts.
