Distributed Computing as an Advertisement

There is a new company that  instead of advertising with ads they make a script that does computation on the client side and it transferred to the Server side for validation. This way there is no adds on the page which makes the website a more visually pleasing and the website makes money/produces work. This introduces a whole new way to think about ads.

Since our computers are getting faster and faster not only on the client side but also on the server side. This increases the amount of computation that we can compute. On the negative side for the company it depends on the amount of time the computer spends on the site. This can be good or bad for example a lot of people send hours on google mail, facebook, or twitter that automatically update. This increases the time you spend on websites and in turn increases the time spent on computation. This may also have a negative effect on content because content may be tailored to increase the time that you spend on the page.

The interesting part is that different companies can use this technique on different computations the only hard part is to verify the info that is done by the clients.
