NSA Collects even more

According to a new batch of Snowden documents, the NSA "Sniff it all, collect it all, know it all, process it all and exploit it all.” The new evidence found in these documents show a that surveillence companies of several other nations are operating to give communication data to the NSA. Apparently they are all communicating to a base in New Zeland which shows that this reaches much farther than just the US.
According to the document the facilities are run by and organization called the "Five-Eyes" which comprises of the intelligence agencies of the U.S., U.K., Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. These 5 intelligence agencies use a number of code names and have listening bases stationed around the globe. These stations then communicate with the base in New Zeland as well as a base that is nearby in Australia. However, this is just sepculation as the document did not explicitly show communication between the numerous stations around the world and the base in New Zeland. The article then goes on to list several other locations of bases that have been obtained from the documents. Furthermore, it goes on to say that most of the bases connected to the New Zeland location are actually US operated. When questioned about these revelations, the UK prime minister said these allegations were false, yet did not offer any more information.
Ever since the first release of the original Snowden documents, we as a people have been questioning what the government knew about us. Phone calls? Emails? Probably everything. However, at the time this was a mostly US citizen concern. However, with these updates, it opens up a whole new realm. The knowledge that these 5 global powers have listening stations around the world that are constantly gathering new information about its citizens. But what do they really care about? Is this for financial wealth? Is it for global security? Is it to be able to black mail other global powers?
Another revelation that these documents bring up is the fact that the NSA and the whole idea that the government has been listening in has been going on for a very long time. The idea that there are so many bases that are communicating with each other, delivers communication data is not a simple overnight development. This had to have been going on for decades prior to us knowing about us. And an even bigger question is, what has happened since the installation of these spying bases allowed these 5 powers to mold the way our planet has grown?
